Nets waived forward Joe Johnson

The Brooklyn Nets waived the forward Joe Johnson on Thursday, allowing the seven time all-star to join a better team and actually become a contender in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets announced the move after deciding to buy out the rest of Joe Johnson's contract, being one of the largest contracts in the NBA, and the players of the NBA must be waived by their current team by March 1st in order to sign with another team and be eligible for the playoffs. The team that decides to pick up Johnson would have to pay the remainder of his $24.9 million salary cap. The Cleveland Cavaliers have two spots open on their roster and could be a possible candidate for Joe Johnson, and if he ends up going there with Kyrie Irving and LeBron James they could be a major contender in the playoffs this season!
