Curry Goes Down

The Golden State Warriors(1) face the Houston Rockets(8) in the first round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs. During game 1 of the series Stephen Curry of the Warriors and Patrick Beverley of the Rockets got into a physical battle and that led to Curry getting frustrated.
Stephen Curry supposedly slipped on the court due to wetness and tweaked his ankle. He got taken out but eventually returned to complete the game and get the win for his team. For game 2 of the series Curry did not play due to his ankle. Game 2 was won by the rest of the Warriors team without their team leader Curry to take the series to a 2-0 lead.
Game 3, James Harden and the Rockets surpass the Warriors without Curry. Harden had a fantastic game and they took the win by only 1 point with the final score being 97-96 to get their first win of the series.
For game 4 of the series, Stephen Curry played the game to start but got hurt and they took him out for the rest of the game due to him re-tweaking his ankle. This time it is a little more severe with him now being out for a minimum of 2 weeks. The Warriors still managed to get passed the Rockets without Curry to get the win with a score of 121-94. Game 5 is tonight April 27 and they need 1 more win to win the series and move on, but they are playing this game without their team leader Curry. Do you think they will get the win, or will the Rockets get a must win game 5?!

Color Inspiration Continued

Continuing on with the color inspiration post for my blog, besides that the colors go with the NBA, the colors that i used for my blog inspire me in a way that it is really easy for the reader of my blog to see and recognize. I chose a plain black color for the text background and used white for the actual text itself. The background of the blog is a blue ruffled type texture that i talked about in the previous color inspiration post. I chose not to use that much red because red is hard to see against a black background, so i just went with blue, white, and black as the primary colors for my blog.
Blue has always been on of my favorite colors for 1 reason alone. The college basketball team, the Duke Blue Devils, coming from Duke University. They have been and always will be my favorite basketball team ever and their main color is blue. When it was time to choose a color for my blog blue worked out for me in both ways, it is the color of my favorite college basketball team, and it is also one of the three main colors that go with the NBA along with white and red. Those are a couple reasons why the certain colors that i chose to go along with my blog inspired me!

Design Inspiration Continued

Continuing on from my post about my design inspiration what I have always enjoyed is a texture ruffled type image. I searched for the right background to use for my blog and I chose a blue texture ruffled background. First I chose the color blue because In my opinion i feel like the color blue is one of the three main colors involved with the NBA along with red and white. Next, like I said i wanted a ruffled look for my background because that is a good attention-getter for the reader. The reason why I like the ruffled type look textured background is because it gives it a ocean waves type feel and In my opinion that is the best type of background to use. Any project or anything for fun I usually use a textured look background.

Typographic Inspiration

The type of text that inspired me to create my blog is a bold font so that the title of my blog would catch people's attention along with the 'Impact' type font that is offered on blogger as one of the options. The font is in 60 pt and the reason why that particular font inspired me is because i wanted a font that looked fun and comical along with being easily to read. I made the color of the main title font to be white against a black background so it will be again easily readable.

The page text is in 14 pt and is in the 'Cherry Cream Soda' font that is offered in blogger. That font interests me quite a bit because the font is more easily readable and i think it is one of the best fonts that is offered through blogger simply for your page text. My tabs text is regular with the font being 'Ariel' and being in 14 pt. As well as my post titles are in the 'Ariel' type font being a little bigger at 22 pt so that the title post stands out to the readers viewing my blog. The date font is also in Ariel and is a smaller 11 pt because although the date is important it is not necessarily the most focused thing on my blog page.

Black Mamba Goes Out Like a Legend

Some say he is the best player to ever play basketball in history, putting aside Jordan of course. He is a legend, a role model, a MVP, a 5 time NBA Champion, and one of the most profound faces to ever come out of the NBA.
Kobe Bryant , AKA the Black Mamba.
Kobe Bryant has played beside the best players to ever play this game and he has mimicked Micheal Jordan's play and moves as he looked up to him and wanted to play like him and even try to be better then he was.

Kobe Bryant is a now retired American shooting guard who played for the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire 20 year career and never switched teams. Bryant was selected 13th overall to the Charlotte Hornets and was traded directly to the Lakers. Who would ever think that the 13th overall pick would be , in my opinion, the 2nd best player in NBA history alongside Micheal Jordan. Kobe Bryant is the only player to come close to Wilt Chamberlain's record of the most points scored in a single game being 100. Bryant scored 81 points on January 22, 2006. There is so much to say about Kobe Bryant's greatness beyond words. Our past generation got to see Kobe in his prime, and our generation gets to see him retire as one of the greats.

In his last game as a Los Angles Laker on April 13th 2016, Kobe Bryant went of with a bang! He scored 60 points in his last game at home, and he couldn't ask for a better way to end his career as a Laker. Everybody who is anybody was at that game from Jack Black all the way to Magic Johnson and his lifetime teammate Shaq. Bryant led his team to their last victory of the season with the score being 110-96 against the Utah Jazz. Bryant who went 22-50 from the field laughed during his farewell speech because all his career his teammates told him to pass the ball, but not last night! Kobe went off for his last game and retired in style, the only way a legend should!

Warriors Make History

The Golden State Warriors, this season, were on the chase for 73 wins in order for them to surpass the 95'-96' Chicago Bulls record of 72-10. Last night on April 13th the Warriors took on the Memphis Grizzlies on their last regular game of their season. They had to win their last 4 games in a row to beat the Bulls and their last opponent comes down to the Grizzlies. The Warriors , led by the reining MVP of last year Stephen Curry, beat the Grizzlies with the final score being 125-104. They made history in beating Micheal Jordan's 95'-96' Bulls team with their record being 72 wins and 9 losses. The Warriors reached a total of 73 wins and is now the record holder in the NBA for most wins in a regular season with that now being 73.

Steve Kerr the current head coach for the Warriors had the privilege to play with Jordan on the 95'-96' Bulls team when they made history, and he thought that no other team would come close to breaking his record of 72 wins. Now 20 years later Kerr coaches the team to break his own record with the most wins in the NBA, That is pretty awesome and is a main part of the NBA's history.

Our parents had the privilege to watch Jordan in his prime win the title 3 straight years in a row 2 times! Now it is our turn to watch history unfold it self as we get to see the best 3 point shooter of all time , Stephen Curry, beat the record for most wins and get 73 wins in a single season!
